NewNorth by No Fault is a technology service that simplifies online dispute resolution (ODR) and legal documentation.
We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice, representation, or advocacy in court. All legal filings and court appearances (where required) are handled by independent partner lawyers. These lawyers operate under their own professional licenses and are not employees or representatives of No Fault or NewNorth.
Our role is to provide tools, templates, and coordination support to help you manage mutual-consent matters efficiently and respectfully.
Final decisions, timelines, and approvals are determined solely by the judiciary and applicable laws of India. All partner lawyers engaged through NewNorth by No Fault are independent professionals who operate under their own registrations and bar council licenses. They are responsible for any filings, petitions, or representations undertaken on your behalf.
No Fault facilitates communication, documentation, and coordination between you and these independent legal professionals.
Our platform does not collect lawyer fees, represent clients in court, or guarantee legal outcomes. All documents, case details, and communications shared through the NewNorth portal or WhatsApp remain confidential and encrypted, following Indian data protection standards.
Set yourself up for a smooth filing:
-
Keep details consistent
Match names, dates of birth, addresses, and marriage dates across all documents. Tiny mismatches cause big delays. -
Write simply and neutrally
In both spouses’ statements, stick to facts and the mutual decision. Avoid blamey language; it invites questions you don’t want. -
Agree the key terms upfront
Note maintenance/alimony, property division, and child arrangements (custody, visitation, expenses) clearly—even if the value is “nil”. -
Prepare your ID & proofs together
Typical set: government ID, address proof, marriage certificate/affidavit, two recent passport photos (as required locally). -
Use the exact spellings everywhere
Copy spellings from IDs into the questionnaire. Watch for “Kumar/Kumaar”, initials, and hyphenated surnames. -
Check jurisdiction basics
Confirm the filing court based on residence/marriage place as per local rules. Our instructions will point you in the right direction. -
Review carefully before signing
Read every page. Ensure dates, addresses, and agreed terms are accurate. Ask for edits—DIY: 14 days, File Assist: 30 days (free). -
Coordinate calendars early
For File Assist, share a few preferred dates up front to make spouse signatures and filing smoother. -
Keep communications civil and prompt
Quick, respectful replies on WhatsApp or the client portal speed drafting, coordination, and court scheduling. -
Bring originals and copies
When you file/appear, carry originals plus photocopies as listed in your instructions to avoid extra visits.
DIY Paperwork specific
-
Visit the court during non-peak hours when possible.
-
Staple/label sets as per our instructions; courts love tidy bundles.
-
Carry spare photos and self-attested copies—saves a second trip.
File Assist specific
-
Share prior filings/drafts (if any) at the start to avoid rework.
-
Keep your phone reachable on filing days for quick signature confirmations.
Common avoidable delays
-
Name/age/address mismatches.
-
Missing marriage proof or outdated address proof.
-
Ambiguous terms like “we will decide later” (replace with clear statements).
Reminder
Court acceptance, timelines, and any additional requirements are determined by the judiciary. We’ll guide the paperwork and coordination; the judge guides the outcome.-
