Integrity

From then on, you didn’t need to rediscover balance each time. You simply got on and rode. Balance, once distinguished, is permanent. And in that moment, a whole new realm of possibility opened—not just for riding, but for how we move through the physical world.
Integrity works differently. When we first distinguish integrity as honoring our word—as the condition of being whole and complete—it also opens a new realm of possibility: one of workability and high performance. But unlike balance, integrity isn’t permanent.
Integrity must be generated—again and again, in every moment, on every occasion. The cost of being out of balance is immediate and obvious. The cost of being out of integrity—failing to honor our word—is subtler, but just as real: we erode our wholeness, reduce workability, and diminish ourselves as people of integrity.
Balance is automatic once learned. Integrity is a stand—a choice we must freely and continually make.
The good news? As human beings, we can always choose it again.
